Another pastel.
The only reference that I used for this one was a plastic Breyer horse figure.
I wanted to do another picture of Leroux Erik with Cesar, the horse. The other one was the painting that I did a while back, of the journey to the Lair.
I used a tiny bit of paint for Cesar's eye, because I couldn't get a good enough blue with the pastels.
Forgive the bluriness: it was too big for the scanner.
I agree with you about that. He looks a little bit like a pony size-wise. The reason that I had to make him so small was that I couldn't fit his entire face on the paper otherwise. I need to get some drawing paper that isn't so narrow.
Glad you like it!
I like Cesar, too.

Yeah, I figure he'd have to be bigger to cart around people on stage and stuff. But paper-size is definitely a factor--though I guess Erik's head could be smaller, too.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
This news article features five deviants who took part in Comment Month through commenting on the deviations that were submitted.
Please give your time to this article and to write constructive comments so that you make a true difference to the artists featured here. Although not all may be underappreciated, their efforts deserve to be recognised and celebrated.
